The color quality after scanning is subjective. Just like comparing SLRs (Sony, Canon, Nikon etc) which one produced better color science and its never ending debate which is the best. Similar case to Epson and canon scanners. Which scans better colors . Everyone has its own taste of color. This make the masses confused at times. Your color "green" in Epson maybe bland to your taste while others is the perfect "green" or vice versa to canon. The quality of monitor/printers can contribute to the scanning output as well. If you have a standard monitor, don't expect good colors after scanning and blame the scanner after. You have to match them. If your serious about it. a "CALIBRATED" monitor dedicated for photography (this will produced life like colors in your screen), a good scanner (epson/canon), and editing software using the color profile of the monitor (ICC color profile) to print and a good color printer (not a standard all around printer) for best result. By the end of the day its your budget, its your scanner and its your color liking what's important. Hope this helps.
this is the old version (lide 210 and 220), compared to the latest version (lide 300 and 400) which one do you choose? I would like to take 300 but the resolution is only 2400 lower than lide 210. Give me some advice, sir

this scanner dont give a white thin lines when you scan watercolor drawings? because at my office there is a A3 big scanner and it give more then one white thin line in the middle of the page only when i scan watercolor drawings, do you think this thin lines is from the scanner or from the watercolor paper?

I assume you have Catalina on your mac : – ).. now Does lide220 works with Catalina and the driver that Canon provides it with.My last scanner, I had to throw out because Canon do not update the driver on old but perfect scanners. .The program we have on the mac wasn't really working very well when I was trying to scan.It was a lot of work. Thank you a lot, I've been always frustrated by the results from these home office scanners when scanning my drawings, somehow the results were always off. The review really helped me choose a more artworks orientated scanner. 🙂
I have the same scanner, Canon Lide 220. I scan A4 loose sheets but the top of the page is darker than the bottom of the page. The light gets gradually brighter. Do you have any experience with this problem?

Great review. I think I'll get this one. BTW its difficult compare physical images to the screen. You can make them look the same, if that's what you are after but when/if you print you'll find it less simular. Also different monitors will show differently. Even "Color Correct" monitors show pictures slightly differently.
your apple wireless keyboard really wanted some alcohol rubbing. interestingly it has the untouched area dirtier than the regularly pressed ones..
I read an Amazon review of the Lide 220 that stated that it only scans to Jpeg or PDF. Is this true? Will I be able to scan to a Tiff file?

Hi. Remember the monitor is almost certainly not going to correctly recreate the correct colours of the scanned image, which could be the main cause of colour discrepancy.
How many seconds does it take to make a colour scan and return to its start position to begin another scan…at 300dpi and 600dpi? Thank you
I've been reading a lot of customer reviews and a few have said that their canon LiDE 220 started producing thick black vertical lines. Is this a problem for you or is this issue resolvable?

2:53. It only lets me choose up to 600 DPI, even if I use the "Canon IJ Scan Utility2" software that it came with. Why?
