  1. Ifood its the main one on my country, and they are just as exploitative. If not more.

  2. I literally got an ad for grubhub and then jack in the box delivery. what the actual fuck.

  3. Interesting stuff, but it's strange hearing Drew, over and over again, use the word "middle-men" to describe Doordash, Postmates, etc. They are a delivery service, like any other. Do you call the USPS the "middleman" for your mail and packages? Restaurants can choose to field their own delivery service (and block these apps), deny all delivery offerings (there's restaurants like Culver's and other local places that do so), or work with 3rd party services. They facilitate deliveries, and they don't get in the middle as much as the make it come together. As an independent contractor, I can't afford nor do I have the time to handle customer complaints and food quality issues. I just drive from point A to point B. Having a delivery platform allows me to focus my business.

  4. How about get off your ass and pick the food up lol… Even during COVID you could still do curb side pick up.

  5. I only order stuff from pizzeria and sushi restaurant.
Because it's just idiotic to pay 30 zł for something I paid 15 zł for. And most of those shops only allow delivery when the order is 50 zł.

  6. there's a great indian restaurant a four minute drive away and i save like $15/person by picking up instead of delivering with postmates

  7. I work as a courier for a delivery service in the UK and I think the one I working for is the only one that pays hourly. All the others pay by job? Which must be a fucking pisstake

  8. i will “doordash” my panera. “uber” to the airport. And, “amazon” my new shoes lmao

  9. I doordash subway sometimes and I buy 6 cookies Everytime because it's cheaper to buy more than to not.

  10. It's different in India though.
You get the price lesser than if you'd go to a restaurant, for most restaurants.

  11. Late to the party but I worked at a boba shop and we did postmates, uber, door dash, and grub hub. Literally the bane of our existence because people would make giant orders when we were super busy in person, there would be a line out the door and there was nothing we could do about it and we were always understaffed, like two employees in the store at a time, so one person has to bounce between taking orders and placing online orders and then the customers in person would write complaints saying we care more about online orders than people inside the store when online orders would be sitting for 30 minutes at a time waiting so we could take customers orders, and then the delivery drivers were always rude as hell, always have attitude with us when it’s so obvious we’re super busy and I’ve been yelled at over the phone with a driver because she couldn’t find our store and then she sent her son in to pick up their order and he waited in line instead of telling someone at the call out table. Like it wasn’t my fault I didn’t know your child in a transformers tshirt is picking up YOUR responsibility as a delivery driver.

  12. I work at a restaurant and we use skip the dishes, the fees are much higher than our online ordering system and the app we use gives us either too much time and the food is cold or not enough time and the driver has to wait there for ten minutes. It's much better to go in person in my opinion, but I can see why people see delivery as an alternative.

  13. This is seven months late, but I call it a foouber when I order this stuff.

  14. I work at Baskin Robbins and I personally spit in everyone’s door dash before delivering it because I just love to cause even more pain just in general with the extra price. ;)

  15. Bruh, Wendy’s gave us chicken nuggets as opposed to 3 specific meals for our fam…, and no one knew what to do. I feel so bad for Wendy’s whom I blamed. I woulda just walked there but you know… husbands… just want me to shut up and eat a nugget stop being a grandma!

  16. You are making me feel very guilty for eating noodles and company that I ordered through grubhub for the second time after the driver stole my order the first time.

  17. A tell all from a driver. Grubhub, UberEats, and DoorDash robs the driver. Door Dash starts drivers out for $2.50 to go 10 miles or more, mind you they charge the customer an arm and leg. The drivers for all these big companies are being short change and the drivers are the ones doing the most. They're putting their lives on the line , their vehicle , and more. Grub hub and DoorDash is the same company, but different rules. Post Mates don't pay well either. All these companies cares about is their pockets, not the reaturaunt or the drivers. Beaware of how they pay the drivers. Door Dash keeps the tips too

  18. idk man,im using delivery app when theres discount and free delivery fee.yes i live in indonesia, yes i use shopee, and yes i pay $1 from $4 food price

  19. I try to only use it once in a while, just when I really don’t feel like it or when I’m traveling & don’t know the area well.
I only use ubereats because you can change the tip after delivery, so if someone doesn’t follow the delivery instructions I’ll take the tip off.

Would really be easier if these restaurants all found a way to hire their own drivers.

  20. The verb I use is 'just eat/ubereats' and I think the whole thing is kind of addictive for some people, especially with how hard it is to retrain yourself to stop.
I have stopped getting delivery for the last year or so, for the reasons stated in this video and both I and my bank account feel much better for it.

If I lived in SK/Japan I would probably order at least twice a week because of how much better the system is there and delicious food is cheaper. What a first world problem, eh?

  21. I remember I did one of these delivery service's but for a video game it was neat way to waste money

  22. I'm deleting doordash off my phone. it's just stupid at this point. you'll have issues like ordering a quesadilla that was pictured with three sides that comes side-less and sauce-less because there was literally no option to pick those things and you assumed they'd come and now you've paid $23 for a tortilla with chicken and cheese in it in a box.

  23. sometimes i’ll watch the same drew gooden videos more than once because i feel comforted by his complaining about first world problems, is this normal?

  24. In India, Swiggy and Zomato are doing extremely well. Now there are so many drivers u see waiting around any restaurant. These 2 apps in India seem to eliminate all the problems u mentioned for doordash and ubereats

  25. I was going to eat some leftovers from last night, only to find out that my roommate ate it, so I'm spending nearly 20 dollars on Jersey Mike's sub on Grubhub and I'm watching this video while I'm waiting as I question my life choices.

  26. I really appreciate your perspective and you are making a lot of good points, but the apps aren’t truly screwing over anybody. There are about 10,000 different ways to feed yourself in the United States of America and if you want to be lazy and have your food cooked and brought to you 10 feet from your dinner table, it’s going to cost you a lot of money. Too many Americans want to play the victim when the truth is these are just first world problems. If I had one complaint about these companies it’s that they miss lead and trick their drivers; by the time the drivers find out that the job isn’t worth it, there’s always a fresh batch of naïve people waiting to sign up.

  27. Don’t tip with cash, drivers have no way to differentiate your order from a stiff order. Your good will be delivered quicker when it has a higher amount of money paid to driver. If you tip with cash, your driver will be happy still, but that’s after your order is delivered an hour and half later and cold
