Which Intel processors are eligible for overclocking? Overclocking is a feature available exclusively for Intel® Core™ processors that are designated as “unlocked.” To identify these processors, look for the letter K or X included in their processor number. For instance, processors like the i9-13900KF, i5-13600K, and i7-12700K fall into this category, enabling users to push their clock frequencies beyond default settings for enhanced performance. However, it’s important to note that if you decide to alter the processor’s frequency and/or voltage outside of Intel’s official specifications, you may risk voiding the warranty associated with your processor.

Is it possible to overclock the Intel Core i5 processors? When it comes to the Core i5-12400, the maximum multiplier that can be manually adjusted is 40x. It’s important to note that the additional 400MHz gained from Turbo Boost can only be allocated to a single core. This limitation means that you cannot increase the multiplier beyond 40x.
